Alas, there will be no pictures in this post...but I will say that Andrew is finally back from CA and my bachelorette days are over. Now both the doggy and I have someone to hang out with, and I don't have to worry about any more dead rats

To conclude the CA trip, I feel like I should tie up some loose ends. Accompanying us along route 101 were large bells about every half a mile. Evidently, this was the path the missionaries took up to coast, and it seems that almost all the bells they planted are still alive and well along the side of the highway.

When we arrived in Santa Barbara, for old times sake, (we were visiting his college town) Andrew ate meat lasagna. Lucky for cows everywhere, he didn't enjoy it enough to go back to his evil omnivorous ways.

Finally, andrew's seven year old nephew kicked my ass at guitar hero.

Moro Vino

I realize that this may be a bit of overkill here, but I simply can't resist.

I also can't forget about the locals we met.

Vino

After meeting some of AJS' family, we headed down to Santa Barbara to go wine tasting. This was, as one can imagine, very exciting for me. We smiled politely and feined an understanding of what the pourers in each tasting room were saying, and then tried to guess the various descriptive words printed under each name of the wine. I mostly failed, but am determined to go back with a greater understanding of the craft. I've started my "practice" wine drinking already...

AJS and I spent the last week touring most of large state of California. This was a break that I despretely needed. Therefore, on Monday AJS and I excitedly climbed into our slightly dented kia and headed down the coast.
