grounddog!!!!

Athough I maintain a slight air of disdain for anything on youtube, I find this very funny.

*sigh*

A glass of wine, an hour of silly pop music (including tracks by eminem and Mary J. Blige) on itunes and the inevidable advance of time are not enough to motivate me to finish cleaning the house. Sundays have become a mix of permitted laziness and stress caused by the fact that this is the only day that I don't have deal with people under the age of 28 unless I choose to. This "free time" creates a feeling that I need to get absolutley every single chore I put off during my work-filled week. I spend alot of time and energy worrying about what I should be doing...the release of being done with a stressful situation yesterday and even being moderatley happy with my "performance" lasted for about 3 hours. I'm back to where I was. And my office still needs work.

Round 2

The results of the Second Annual Summer Sorry Smackdown are out. Both the boy and I were destroyed by his lovely lady friend. (although it got pretty suspenseful towards the end of the match) Again, the reader can construct his or her timeline of events.

diggin'

After planning through the two and a half years I've lived here I have finally gotten it together to plant the flower bed in the front. Of course, it merely consists of a few impatiens which I've heard are very difficult to kill. Nonetheless, I consider this an important step in my development as a suburban housewife. (the photos above illustrate the "before" and the "after" ; although most reading this would figure that out on their own.) In addition to the flowerbed we also now have a windowbox of wave petunias and a pot of geraniums in honor of the gardening Johnstone men. The next project is cherry tomatos, as I intend to continue the container garden legacy left by my tomato-lovin-medical-illustrating-former roomate.

more fabulousness: a how to.

It was requested that I share the recipie for the chocolate martini I was enjoying the previously mentioned fateful night of the rat. I learned this from Resrie, who herself was taught this art by the men at the shady liquor store on belair road. I've changed the first recipie somewhat, this one is sweeter and tastes less like alcohol.

Equal parts vanilla vodka and creme de cacao. put in martini shaker with ice. shake. pour into martini glass. enjoy.
